Aan het einde van een nacht feesten, vinden een broer en zus verscheurd door trauma elkaar terug. Nu ze eindelijk de systemen die het trauma mogelijk maakten begrijpen, kunnen ze zich opnieuw een actieterrein en mogelijke toekomst voorstellen. Met EXTRA LIFE zet Gisèle Vienne het onderzoek naar verschillende manieren van waarnemen verder. Het resultaat belicht de verschillende lagen die van het heden het ‘heden’ maken: verleden, heden, geanticipeerde toekomst, de constructie van herinneringen en verbeelding. Een veelzijdige collage, gecreëerd met en geperformd door Katie Petrowick, Adèle Haenel en Theo Livesey.

À l’issue d'une nuit de fête, un frère et une sœur déchiré·es par un traumatisme se retrouvent. Maintenant qu'iels comprennent enfin les systèmes qui ont rendu le traumatisme possible, iels peuvent à nouveau imaginer un champ d'action ainsi qu'un potentiel avenir. Avec EXTRA LIFE, Gisèle Vienne poursuit son enquête sur les différentes manières de percevoir. Le fruit de ses recherches met en évidence les différentes couches qui font du présent le « présent » : le passé, le présent, le futur anticipé, la construction des souvenirs et l'imagination. Un collage aux multiples facettes créé et interprété par Katie Petrowick, Adèle Haenel et Theo Livesey.

At the end of a night of partying, a brother and sister torn apart by trauma find each other again. Now that they finally understand the systems that made the trauma possible, they can once again imagine a field of action and possible futures. With EXTRA LIFE, Gisèle Vienne continues her research into various ways of perception. The result highlights the different layers that make the present the ‘present’: past, present, anticipated future, the construction of memories and imagination. A multifaceted collage, created with and performed by Katie Petrowick, Adèle Haenel, and Theo Livesey.
